    Served in Army from 1968 to 1970, principally at Fort Bliss Texas, as missile electronics instructor.

    Served in the Air Force from 1970 to 1979, and the Wisconsin Air National Guard 1980-1981. Flew the KC 135 in both, and left as a Captain. Never set foot in Viet Nam, but flew over it and around it too many times

    Served in US Air Force flying KC-135 (1968-1988–three times TDY to Thailand from 1971to the last day in August 1973) and the AWACS birds all over Europe. Twenty years of enjoyment–the best of times and the worst of times–as the saying goes. Retired as LtCol in 1988.

      Bill, what years were you in the Navy? What was your rate – Airman 2nd Class? In Vietnam, were you stationed on a Carrier or in-country?

        1965 – 1969,
        Rate was originally PR (parachute rigger) then was switched to aircrew survivalman 2nd class, started flying aircrew as searcher and loadmaster during my last two years, off of carrier USS Constellation.

    I served in the US Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel after 25 years. I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on July 23, 1968 in Th Womens Army Corps. I served for over 5 years of active duty and ended my career in the Illinois Army National Guard.

    Served in the U.S. Navy from 11/69 to 1/72 . Vietnam era veteran. Worked at fleet operation control center for the Pacific Fleet. This was in Hawaii. Great tour and became a golfer, surfer and diver.

      I was drafted & spent a LONG two years from Aug 1966 to Aug 1968. Sorry, for the confusion? 22 months at Fort Sill, OK. I was an orders clerk & actually typed out my own SP5 promotion, HA!
